What sizes are your poly mooring buoys?
Two standard sizes: WT-BF-18-SP is 18 inches in diameter and WT-BF-24-SP is 24 inches. White with a blue band shown; other colors built to order.
How much will a poly mooring buoy hold up?
Net buoyancy, the extra load the buoy carries before it is fully submerged, is 96.5 lb (44.8 kgf) for the 18 inch and about 220 lb (100 kgf) for the 24 inch.
How much do they weigh?
About 14 lb (6.4 kg) for the 18 inch and about 42 lb (19 kg) for the 24 inch.
Are they foam filled?
Yes. Both sizes have a 0.25 inch rotomolded polyethylene shell, molded in Houston, and are completely foam-filled in our Louisiana shop with 2 lb closed-cell urethane foam that meets or exceeds United States Coast Guard requirements, so there is no hollow chamber to flood if the shell is holed.
Will they float stable?
Yes. Center of gravity, buoyancy and stability are calculated for each size, and both sizes have a positive metacentric height.
What end options are there?
Eye nuts on each end, or a custom-size through-pipe for cable or rope.
What colors can I get?
White with a blue band shown; other colors built to order.
Where are your mooring buoys made?
Molded in Houston, finished in Louisiana: our rotomolding division in Houston, Texas, molds the shells, and our shop in Maurice, Louisiana foam-fills and finishes them. Made in the USA. Wet Tech Energy is the manufacturer, not a reseller, in business since 1999.
